IN-SCHOOL MENTORING PROGRAM

The In-School Mentoring program matches children and youth (grades 1-8) with mentors who provide support through weekly visits at the mentee’s school.

Community Based Mentoring

Community-Based mentoring programs pair children and youth (ages 6-18) with mentors (18+) for weekly outings and support.

Young Parent Mentoring Program

The Young Parent Mentoring Program pairs young parents with mentors for bi-weekly social engagement and support.

Nearly New Thrift Store

Shop, volunteer, and donate to the Nearly New Thrift Store! Located at 4311 Queen St, Niagara Falls, the store is almost exclusively run by volunteers.

Bingo

25% of revenue from Delta Bingo and Gaming Centres is donated to charities including BBBS. Volunteer roles include door greeters and Ambassadors of BBBS.

WHY YOU SHOULD VOLUNTEER

It takes as little as one hour/week

Each year, Meridian employees receive one paid working day to volunteer in their community

You and your match can do activities based on common interests

Employees have access to donation credits per hour volunteered that can be given to their charity of choice

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1 – Interested individuals 18+ should complete the online Volunteer form below

Step 2 – Attend a Volunteer Orientation Session. After attending the session, you will attain a letter from the Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator to apply for the Vulnerable Sector Police Check with further instruction.

Step 3 – Apply for a Vulnerable Sector Police Check naming “Big Brothers Big Sisters”. Once your police clearance arrives in the mail you will need to stop by the office located closest to you where a caseworker will verify the document.

Step 4 – Participate in an agency interview

Step 5 – Attend training sessions to prepare you for your role

Step 6 – Have fun with your mentee
